Established in 1978, the German School of Connecticut (GSC) – the only professional German Saturday School in CT – provides a high-quality German education program for over 300 children and adults. GSC is a private, non-profit school with branches in Stamford and West Hartford, CT.

We offer German language instruction in a friendly, stimulating learning environment for children age 2 through high school and adults. Class sessions are on Saturday mornings, targeting students new to the German language as well as students already used to speaking and/or listening to German.

Studying German at GSC is fun!  Adults enjoy the camaraderie and friendship among like-motivated class participants.  Toddlers and elementary school children enjoy hands-on modern teaching, along with singing, playing and being with their friends.  Middle school and high school students enjoy special projects and cultural events… and all students participate in the many traditional holiday celebrations. German-language materials are available at GSC’s library for students of all ages.

As of July 1, 2008, Connecticut students studying World languages in community schools such as the German School of Connecticut (GSC) are eligible to receive high school foreign language credit for their studies. This is a real benefit to the students, who put in many hours of study to master reading, speaking and writing skills, as well as cultural information

Classes are held from September to May.  Registration is ongoing.  For further information regarding enrollment or teaching, please visit www.GermanSchoolCT.org, or call Stamford at 203.548.0438, West Hartford at 860.404.8838.
