    Adventure

Old Sturbridge Village (OSV) is a “must-see” destination to experience early New England life from 1790-1840.  One of the country’s largest living history museums, Old Sturbridge Village features costumed interpreters, 40 historic buildings, three water-powered mills, working farms, demonstrations, gardens and antiques.  Visitors can watch the potter, tinsmith, cooper and blacksmith at work, see animals, and enjoy hands-on crafts.  OSV is open year-round and offers many seasonal events.  Lodging and dining are also available on-site.

    Antiques

Old Sturbridge Village is a living, breathing, vibrant village depicting life in New England from 1790-1840. Visitors can meet historians in costume and tour 40 antique buildings, including a country store, school, and water-powered mills.

Our collection of more than 50,000 artifacts made or used in early New England includes quilts, clocks, pottery, and fine furniture.

    Agriculture

Where does our food come from? At our Freeman Farm, visitors learn how important the harvest was to early New England farmers – and how much work was involved in preserving food to last through the winter.  Visitors can meet heritage breed cattle, oxen, sheep, chickens, and pigs, and see the seasonal rhythms of work on a 19th-century farm.  Meet the Animals

    Discovery Adventures Program

Several times a year, Old Sturbridge Village provides opportunities for kids to get a more in-depth Village experience with two-day, three-day, and five-day programs. These full-day programs are designed with seasonal and age-appropriate themes that highlight different aspects of life in 19th-century New England.
