More Info
  • The Talcott Mountain Science Center inspires a love of learning through the wonders of science and technology. We give children in grades K-8 the opportunity to explore the interconnected nature of science, technology and our ever-changing world. Explore astronomy, biology, 3-D printing, coding, geology and more! Children learn by doing, and all of TMSC’s programs focus on hands-on, experiential activities that engage students and make learning fun! TMSC offers summer, vacation and Saturday programs for students in grades K-8. TMSC is also home to Talcott Mountain Academy, Connecticut’s premier independent school for gifted students in grades K-8.

    Outreach & School Programs

Need a planetarium in your cafeteria? We’ve got one!  How about a pond in Grade Three? Tornadoes in Room 216? We’re on it! We can bring these and much more to your school, and/or we can host your class at our one-of-a-kind mountaintop campus.

    Vacation Programs (K-8)

Vacations should be fun, and so should learning. That’s why students love spending some of their vacation week with us! Two- or three-day programs for grades K-3 and 4-8 keep your child’s sense of discovery and accomplishment going strong!

Talcott offers a wide array of programs that vary seasonally, everything from robotics to green energy, from nature to chemistry, from coding to geocaching – to keep your child engaged and inspired to learn. They’ll have a blast and learn a lot!

    Talcott Academy

Imagine a school … where “intellectually excited” youngsters study on a mountaintop, drawing inspiration from a panoramic view of more than five thousand square miles. Where students compose poetry, program computers, and learn how to create computer-assisted music while reaching for the stars.

Imagine an environment … where the air is crisp and clear and the challenge to explore, discover, and invent is the norm. Where language arts is integrated and balanced with science, mathematics is related to art, and music combines with technology to synthesize new sounds for young ears. Where all students learn a foreign language and enjoy special weekly enrichment sessions in an already enriched program. Where teachers, students, and parents are all active partners in the learning process…
