Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo released plans today for the Zoo’s traditional summer camp, Zoo Patrol, to be held in person once again for summer 2022. Five sessions are planned, covering dates from July 4 through August 5. There are three sessions for children ages 8-10, and two sessions for children ages 11-13.
Sessions are:
• July 4-July 8 Ages 8-10
• July 11-July 15 Ages 11-13
• July 18-July 22 Ages 8-10
• July 25-July 29 Ages 11-13
• Aug 1-Aug 5 Ages 8-10
Each day, children will explore a different area of the zoo and have a custom guided experience. They’ll explore how the animals are cared for through presentations and projects on enrichment, training, diet, habitat care, and more.
Zoo Patrol runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with drop-off from 8:50-9:10 and pick-up at 12:30 p.m. All children must be signed in and out by an adult at the Research Station. Children should bring a non-refrigerable snack, mask, water, and anything else they may need for a day outside at the Zoo. Sunscreen is recommended.
