  • Did you know that The Children’s Museum is the fifth oldest children’s museum in the nation?!
We have so many programs to offer, you’re sure to find something for everyone!

Our Planetarium provides the audience with an “out-of-this-world” experience unlike any other. Fly to Mars, experience a supernova, or travel to another solar system!

The Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 100 live animals, primarily former pets, displaced animals, and animals that cannot be released back into the wild. The staff works with the Avon Veterinary Clinic, Advanced Veterinary Care in Farmington and state and federal agencies to ensure that the needs of all of the animals are met.

Interactive Exhibits give children of all ages the chance to discover science on their own. With traveling exhibits, as well as our standard exhibits, there is always something new to see and do at the Museum.

Our Preschool Programs focus on each child’s needs and stage of development.  We incorporate hands-on fun that stimulates creativity, the ability to express oneself, scientific understanding, as well as mathematics and literacy skills for each child. Our on-site Preschool takes advantage of the unique resources only a museum can provide for students.

Birthday parties have never been so much fun!  Sit back and watch the magic unfold with fun science and nature activities, our ever-popular animal critters — and the museum to explore — you bring the food, we’ll provide the goody bags!

Roaring Brook partnered with The New Children’s Museum, and brings 5 miles of hiking trails on about 100 acres of a state-owned wildlife preserve. This refuge is home to a variety of native wildlife species
All of this is just a glimpse of what The New Children’s Museum has to offer…
Check our website for more information on everything we do!  We look forward to your visit!
